NAIROBI, Kenya, December 12th, 2017 – JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. (NYSE: JKS) (the “Company,” or “JinkoSolar”), a global leader in the solar PV industry, today announced that it was invited and attended the 3rd United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-3). UNEA-3 was hosted in Nairobi, Kenya by the United Nations Environment Programme from December 4th-6th. As the world’s highest decision-making body on the environment, UNEA-3 brought together over 2500 delegates ranging from current and former heads of states, environment ministers from around the world, heads of UN organizations, and representatives of the private sector to share ideas on the overarching theme of limiting pollution. As the world’s largest solar module manufacturer, JinkoSolar was invited to represent renewable energy sector and exchange ideas on how to utilize clean energy to curtail pollution. Among various different sessions at the UNEA, a representative from JinkoSolar spoke at a discussion on the topic of “Taking Action to Reduce Pollution in the Extractive Sector”, noting the importance of having strong regulations that promote renewable energy. “We really agree with this year’s UNEA theme of beating pollution. Air pollution which accounts for 6.6 million deaths globally per year is mainly a result of coal burning to generate electricity. Heart wrenching statistics like this that is what drives us at JinkoSolar every day to find more efficient and effective ways to bring affordable clean energy to the market. Our work at JinkoSolar striving to save lives and our mother earth” explained Dany Qian, JinkoSolar Vice President. “We’re incredibly honored to represent the renewable energy viewpoint at this world’s highest level decision making body on the environment as the world’s largest solar module manufacturer. From co-chairing the B20 Energy, Climate, and Resource Efficiency taskforce to attending the World Bank Private Sector Liaison Officers Energy Mission earlier this year, we’re happy to be able to contribute to the global dialogue on sustainable development” Ms. Qian further commented.
