Tibet, China, May 20, 2016 - JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. ("JinkoSolar" or the "Company") (NYSE: JKS), a global leader in the PV industry, today announced it has supplied 13 MW of high-efficient Eagle series solar panels to be installed in the Dual-Lake County in the Tibetan Plateau. Elevated at approximately 5000 meters, this project is already touted to be one of the highest solar power projects in the whole world. Dual-Lake County relied on hydro-electric power for decades, but the recent shifting of weather patterns have caused numerous droughts having adverse effects on reservoirs. This 13 MW solar plant is expected to generate approximately 26,000 MWh of renewable electricity per year, emphasizing the existing hydro-electric resources for power. This helps during power shortage situations, relieving pressure of the national grid. “With intense sunlight and cool temperatures, Tibet is extremely ideal for the utilization of solar PV technology. But the extreme harsh environment requires durable solar panels. We’re proud to provide our high-efficient and highly reliable solar PV solutions for electricity generation in this unique region. No matter where you are, anyone can look up and harness nature’s cleanest and most abundant energy resource”, said Dany Qian, VP of JinkoSolar.
